Because of feeling so lonely the old man Hristo decides to commit suicide, but before that he has to take care of his goat - his only companion during his last days. He refuses to sell it to the leather-merchant and nobody in the village wants the living animal. Hristo decides to slaughter it and then appears the village priest, who buys the goat and saves its life. The old man sees that as a sign and with pure conscience takes the rope in his hands.
